A Note from the Instructor:
I would like introduce myself as the new Physical Therapist at Sports Medicine and Training Center located in Clayton. I am very excited to join this exceptional team at SMTC and hope my skills and passion for health and wellness will further enhance the care of our patients. SMTC is a locally owned practiced that specialize in general orthopedics, sports-related physical therapy and a variety of sports performance training programs. We offer programs tailored for sports teams and injured workers.
Through the first 10 years of my career, I have worked in private practice orthopedic clinics; which led me to complete my initial professional goal of owning a private orthopedic clinic. I utilize my manual therapy skills with my knowledge of corrective exercise to formulate effective and efficient treatment protocols to assist my patients and clients to complete their goals. A career opportunity for my husband that required relocated to the St Louis area has allowed me to make SMTC my new home and advance to the next level of my professional goals.
I have extended my passion for wellness by completing a 200 hour yoga teacher training program and began instructing yoga for patients as well as the general public. Currently I’m working on completing a certification in Power Yoga for Sports which will be geared to teaching endurance athletes and other sports teams.
In the upcoming months, SMTC will begin offering yoga classes in hopes to further assist our patients and clients in reaching their fitness and health goals. I am able to provide a knowledgeable and safe class due to my extensive knowledge of exercise, anatomy, and injury prevention. Classes will vary from a beginner flow, to power Vinyasa, to injury specific. We hope to be able to reach the needs of all students and develop programs to meets their needs.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact myself at our Clayton location. I would be happy to discuss more about our physical therapy practice and the upcoming classes we will be offering.
