Biomechanical Assessment for Runners

This service is intended for both competitive and recreational runners who desire to optimize their performance and/or make their running more pleasant and comfortable. Our therapists observe your gait and stride patterns on the treadmill and the ground, then perform a manual assessment of your strength and flexibility in the trunk and lower extremities. Our therapist will also assess your feet and running shoes, including any inserts or orthotics you are wearing. They will educate you regarding any gait deviations, deficits, or areas that can be improved to make your mechanics as efficient as possible while protecting you from injury, and make recommendations for training and/or stretching protocols, including rehab if appropriate, as well as footwear and orthotics.

Biomechanical Assessment for Cyclists

Our therapists observe your posture and mechanics on your bike riding on a trainer as well as outdoors. They will also perform a manual assessment of your strength and flexibility in the trunk and lower extremities. Our therapists will review your riding position and make recommendations to provide the optimal balance point between performance and individual body mechanics to minimize potential overuse injuries, and will prescribe training and/or stretching protocols, including rehab if appropriate. Recommendations may also be made regarding adjustments to the fit of your bike.
